Morocco Al Hoceima Retiree Killed Grandson Sickle Attack
An octogenarian Moroccan man lost his life on Friday in Al Hoceima, fatally attacked with a sickle by his grandson. The attacker’s father, seriously injured while attempting to intervene, was transferred to emergency care in critical condition.
The suspected perpetrator, in his thirties, initially attempted to flee before being apprehended by police. According to those close to him, this individual reportedly suffers from psychiatric problems and had previously served time in prison. During the violent family altercation, his own father tried to calm the situation, which resulted in serious injuries requiring urgent hospitalization.

The victim, holding dual nationality, had emigrated to the Ghent region in the 1960s. Since his retirement, the 80-year-old man divided his time between Belgium and Morocco, particularly enjoying the authentic beaches of the Tamri region. While judicial investigations are being handled by local authorities, Belgian diplomacy has not yet become involved in the case, according to La dernière heure.
