The facts took place at the family home of the retiree, located in the Laâskar district of the city of Taza, where "the man, aged 65, surprised his two sons (20 and 23 years old) asleep in their room, and coldly slit their throats," before heading to the room where his 18-year-old daughter and younger brothers were sleeping, reports Assabah.
"As soon as he entered the room, the young girl woke up with a start, jumped out of her bed, turned on the light to discover that her father, who had a cutter covered in blood in his hand, was about to slit her throat," it is specified, noting that the former soldier would suffer from mental disorders, according to his relatives.
Testimonies collected by the media indicate that the young girl "managed to escape to alert the neighbors, who immediately went to the house, and were able to save the other children, at the very moment when the suspect was trying to kill his wife."
Seriously injured, the latter was taken to the emergency room of the provincial hospital in Taza, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit. As for the former soldier and alleged perpetrator of the facts, he was arrested and placed in custody. The investigation continues.
