Moroccan Teen Sentenced to Life for Murdering 17-Year-Old Coworker After Rejection

In Tangier, a young girl, a minor of 17 years old, was stabbed to death after refusing the advances of her colleague. The latter was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The facts date back to July. A 19-year-old man working in a textile factory in the Gueznaia area of Tangier killed his 17-year-old colleague, who had refused his advances. Armed with a bladed weapon, he had stabbed her several times: knife blows to the face, chest and other parts of the body, reports Al Akhbar. The attempts of the other workers to save the young woman were in vain, as their colleague had threatened "to kill anyone who dared to approach him". They nevertheless had the reflex to alert the gendarmerie elements of the area. On their arrival at the scene, they managed to neutralize the murderer. After his arrest, he was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation opened then under the supervision of the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Tangier.

During his hearing, the young man admitted the facts. His trial then opens. At the bar, he wants to make believe that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, and refuses to answer the questions of the president of the court. But the magistrate was smarter than him. Knowing that he was a believer and a practitioner, he asked him certain questions related to the rak’ah (units of prayer), to which he answered. After unmasking him, the judge refused the request of his defense for a medical examination. On Thursday, the criminal chamber of the Tangier Court of Appeal sentenced the murderer to life imprisonment.
