Retired Soldier Kills 3 Generations of Women in Moroccan Family Stabbing Spree

In Oujda, a retired army man stabbed four women of the same family with a knife, three of whom died on the spot.
The tragedy occurred on Sunday, November 20, in the Al-Mohammadi neighborhood, formerly known as the Toba village. According to preliminary information from the investigation, the suspect entered the residence of his neighbors, for no apparent and logical reason, and seriously injured three women (a grandmother, her daughter and her granddaughter), aged 76, 45 and 19 respectively, with a knife, causing the death of the three victims, the DGSN specifies. The suspect seriously stabbed a fourth daughter, aged 25, in the chest and neck. The arrival of the police forces saved her life.
The police elements managed to subdue the suspect who had barricaded himself in the victims’ house and resisted using their functional weapons. The suspect and the injured young girl were admitted to the hospital where they received emergency care. As for the bodies of the victims, they were taken to the morgue for medical autopsy. Pending the stabilization of his health condition, so that he can be subjected to the judicial investigation procedures ordered by the public prosecutor’s office, the retired army man was placed under medical supervision.
According to sources close to the case, the 42-year-old defendant, a retired soldier, had left military service to join Spain illegally and suffered from mental disorders, which turned into dangerous criminal acts, reports the Arabic-language daily Al Akhbar. He was, according to witnesses, addicted to several types of drugs.
