Moroccan Man Fatally Stabs Father Over Cigarette Money Dispute

Drama in the commune of Ait Amira. A young man fatally stabbed his father after the latter refused to give him money to buy a pack of cigarettes.
The young man asked his father for money to buy cigarettes, but he refused. This was followed by an argument during which the son went to the kitchen to get a knife and stabbed his father several times in the neck. The sexagenarian succumbed to his injuries, reports Assabah.
Alerted, the elements of the gendarmerie of Biougra quickly rushed to the scene. After noting the death of the victim and inspecting the premises, the agents ordered the transfer of the body to the regional hospital center Hassan II in Agadir.
The 19-year-old son, suspected of murdering his father, was then arrested by the gendarmes and taken to the police station where he was questioned. The public prosecutor’s office near the Agadir Court of Appeal ordered the opening of an investigation at the end of which the young man should be brought before the investigating judge. According to sources from the daily, the young man would suffer from mental disorders.
