Morocco Wins "Best Emerging Sustainable Destination" Award from Spanish Travel Magazine

Another consecration for Morocco, which has just been recognized as the "Best Emerging Sustainable Destination" for the 2022-2023 season, by the Spanish magazine Viajar, specialized in tourism and travel.
It is the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), Adel El Fakir, who received this distinction for Morocco during a ceremony organized at the "Real Fábrica de Tapices", in the presence of Karima Benyaich, Ambassador of Morocco in Spain, and several prescribers and tourism operators.
"I am honored to receive this award which recognizes the efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco in terms of sustainable tourism. This recognition strengthens the influence of the Morocco brand through the attributes of sustainability and responsibility to which travelers around the world are very sensitive," said Adel El Fakir as he received the award.
This event allowed the ONMT to present once again the advantages of the Morocco destination through the new "Morocco, Land of Light" brand. In his speech, Adel El Fakir highlighted Morocco’s performance which, at the end of November 2022, has managed to recover 98% of the pre-Covid-19 figures. This has earned Morocco distinctions such as the award for "Best International Promotion Campaign in Spain" and the award for "Best Culinary Destination".
