Forbes Ranks Moroccan Tourism Chief Among Top 20 Global Travel Leaders

Adel El Fakir, Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), is among the 20 global leaders in tourism and travel in the Forbes ranking.
Adel El Fakir ranks 18th in the ranking of the 100 leaders in Tourism and Travel for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, established by the American economic magazine Forbes. "This is the first time that a Moroccan leader has entered the Top 20 in this ranking," the ONMT proudly states, recalling that Morocco has distinguished itself internationally, particularly with the international campaign "Morocco, Land of Light".
In the eyes of the ONMT, this consecration for El Fakir and for the office’s teams is an additional recognition for the work done in terms of promotion and marketing of the destination. This consecration is also due to the ONMT to the multiplication of historic agreements with the major airlines and global tour operators as well as by "lightning" actions with Moroccan tourism professionals, including lightning actions in the world’s major capitals, the "light tours", to highlight the Moroccan destination and its assets.
After this recognition, the office does not intend to rest on its laurels. With its "Light In Action 2026" action plan, Adel El Fakir and his teams at the Office intend to continue to make the Moroccan tourism brand shine around the world and to place the country among the best global destinations, adds the same source.
