Morocco Weather Alert: 44°C Heat Wave and Hail
Weather is becoming unpredictable in many regions of Morocco. Until Saturday, an orange alert warns of extreme heat exceeding 40°C in the South, while heavy rainfall and strong gusts will sweep through other regions.
The sky is proving particularly capricious this Thursday. Between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., thunderstorms accompanied by hail and wind will affect Boulemane, Jerada and Figuig, leaving rainfall totals estimated between 20 and 25 millimeters. This unsettled weather also affects the far north. The regions of Tanger-Assilah and Fahs-Anjra will experience continuous gusts, from Thursday late morning until Friday evening.

Furthermore, stifling heat is settling durably over the southern and southeastern half. According to forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, temperatures will soar to reach values between 41 and 44°C from Thursday June 11 to Saturday June 13, 2026. This heat wave affects the provinces of Errachidia, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd and Oued Ed-Dahab.
