Morocco: new weather alert
The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange alert for the end of the week. Heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and strong winds, will sweep across several regions of the Kingdom from Friday morning to Saturday morning.
The sky will unleash itself from Friday 6:00 am. The DGM forecasts rainfall accumulations ranging between 40 and 65 mm in the highlands and the north of the country, particularly targeting the provinces of Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Ifrane or Beni Mellal.
Sustained rains, between 30 and 40 mm, will also water the Atlantic axis Rabat-Salé-Kenitra as well as the regions of Fez, Meknes and Khouribga.
The wind will also blow over a large part of the territory. Gusts reaching 75 to 85 km/h are expected in many provinces, from the north (Tangier, M’diq) to the East (Oujda, Figuig), through the center and southeast (Ouarzazate, Zagora).
