Intense Heat Wave Grips Morocco: Temperatures to Soar to 47°C in Some Regions

An intense heat wave is expected this weekend in Morocco, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), which places several provinces on orange alert.
The DGM has issued an orange alert for several regions in Morocco, forecasting scorching temperatures from Saturday to Monday. Thermometers could rise up to 47°C in some provinces.
According to the DGM’s forecasts, the central and southern provinces will be the most affected by this exceptional heat wave. Temperatures ranging between 42 and 44°C are expected in cities like Fez, Marrakech or Béni Mellal. The regions of Zagora, Taroudant and Guelmim could even experience peaks of 47°C.
Temperatures ranging between 43 and 47°C are expected on Monday in the provinces of Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd and Oued Ed-Dahab, warns the same source.
