Morocco-Israel Relations Flourish Two Years After Diplomatic Renewal, Says Israeli Diplomat

Tuesday marked the second anniversary of the resumption of relations between Morocco and Israel. An opportunity for Alona Fisher-Kamm, acting head of the Tel Aviv liaison office in Rabat, to take stock of this rapprochement.
Having joined her post after the scandal that splashed David Govrin, the Israeli diplomat describes a relationship that is being built on a daily basis with very good progress and good prospects. "I believe it’s a very good start, and I look with a lot of hope to next year," she specified.
The two countries have signed agreements and forged partnerships in the fields of research, innovation, tourism, health, security and many others. For the future, she thinks that there are still sectors to explore for the vitality of relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv. "We need to focus on several sectors and areas, including agriculture, water, cybersecurity and health. These are issues that interest both countries," reports Le360.
On the commercial level, Alona Fisher-Kamm points out that "the volume of trade between Morocco and Israel has reached $44.2 million". And efforts continue on both sides to promote these exchanges. In the tourism sector, there has been a net increase in revenue thanks to the massive influx of Israeli tourists. Morocco aims for "more than 200,000 tourists" in 2023. On the cultural level, many agreements have been signed for the development of the film industry. A convention has also been signed between the National Foundation of Museums (FNM) and the International Council of Museums of Israel.
On the security level, there have been many acts carried out by the two countries. From the visit made to Morocco last August by the Commissioner General of the Israeli Police, Yaakov Shabtai, to the sharing of experiences in the fight against terrorism and organized transnational crime, and the agreements signed on the military level, the two countries have shown their willingness to establish a frank cooperation. The next two years will be even more flourishing in all sectors.
