Israel Appoints Interim Head of Liaison Office in Morocco Amid Scandal

A few days after the recall to Israel of David Govrin, former head of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat, Alona Fisher Kamm has been appointed to temporarily occupy this position.
The new interim head of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat previously held the position of ambassador of the Hebrew state in Serbia. Her appointment comes following the scandal that has splashed David Govrin, accused of numerous irregularities in the performance of his mission.
The former official had been recalled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to answer the accusations brought against him by some of his collaborators, including the head of the security of the liaison office. These include sexual harassment, exploitation of Moroccan women, and serious financial offenses.
According to the newspaper al Quds Al Arabi, the investigation opened in Israel is already revealing its secrets. The former head of the liaison office in Rabat and two of his collaborators would be involved in the case of sexual harassment against three Moroccan women and one Israeli.
The four victims can decide to sue David Govrin and his two collaborators in court. If no action is taken before the competent courts, it will be very difficult for them to resume their diplomatic careers.
