Franco-Algerian Arrested at Tanger-Med Port with 840 kg of Hashish in Car

Elements of the police operating at the Tanger-Med port in coordination with customs services, thwarted an attempt at international drug trafficking on Thursday, August 25. The suspect is a Franco-Algerian.
More than 800 kg of hashish were seized on board the vehicle registered in France driven by the suspect. In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that it was a border control operation, carried out with trained dogs, which made it possible to find this cargo packaged and hidden in the roof and seats of the suspect’s car, who is 42 years old.
Immediately apprehended, the accused was taken into custody and made available to the investigation opened by the judicial police brigade at the Port of Tanger-Med, in order to determine all the ramifications of this attempted trafficking.
