Moroccan Police Seize Over 2 Tons of Drugs in Major Tangier Bust

Elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Tangier successfully thwarted an attempt at international drug and hashish trafficking on Sunday.
A total of 61 packages containing approximately 2 tons of drugs and 98 kg of hashish were seized in a warehouse located in Melloussa near the city of Tangier, during an operation carried out by the services of the Royal Gendarmerie, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
In addition to these 61 packages, a large bladed weapon and an inflatable boat were also seized. The public prosecutor ordered the opening of an investigation led by the judicial police of Tangier in order to identify all the people involved in this criminal activity and determine all the ramifications of this trafficking at the national and international level, the statement concludes.
