Major Drug Bust at Moroccan Port: Over 1 Ton of Cannabis Seized, Two Arrested

The operation was foiled thanks to the police elements operating at the port of Tanger-Med, in coordination with the services of the Moroccan customs, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), specifying that their arrest took place during the automated control of vehicles transiting through the port.

The search of two trucks made it possible to seize cannabis resin cargoes estimated at one ton and 196 kilograms which were hidden inside cavities arranged for this purpose, in trailers loaded with agricultural products.

The two suspects, aged 47 and 31, were taken into custody, pending the conclusions of the investigation opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to identify the people involved in this international drug trafficking.
