Police Seize Over 1 Ton of Cannabis Resin in Laâyoune Drug Bust, 3 Arrested

An operation carried out by Laâyoune police agents resulted in the seizure of several all-terrain vehicles and more than a ton of cannabis resin last Tuesday, July 26.
The operation, carried out in collaboration with the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), also led to the arrest of three individuals, aged between 34 and 40, one of whom was already actively wanted at the national level, according to the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
In addition to the 33 bales of cannabis resin estimated at one ton and 68 kilograms, the police seized three 4x4 vehicles used in drug trafficking, as well as two inflatable boats. The DGSN estimates that this drug was to be shipped abroad by sea.
