Massive Cannabis Bust in Morocco: 2.3 Tons Seized, 3 Arrested in International Trafficking Case

Three individuals were arrested on Monday afternoon by the judicial police elements of Guelmim, for their alleged involvement in a case of international drug trafficking and possession of hunting weapons without authorization.
In total, 2.313 tons of cannabis resin (chira) were seized by the police at the home of one of the defendants. In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) specified that the three individuals were arrested during various operations carried out by the police. Two of the accused were apprehended on board a 4X4 vehicle at the entrance to the city of Guelmim and a third in the rural area of Abaynou, 15 km from the city, the DGSN said.
In addition to the large quantity of cannabis resin found at the home of one of the individuals, the searches carried out made it possible to seize a hunting rifle without authorization, 14 cartridges, and two vehicles including a 4X4.
The investigations and investigations continue to determine all the ramifications of this criminal activity and identify all the people involved in this case. But in the meantime, the three individuals have been taken into custody.
