Massive Drug Bust: 2 Tons of Cannabis Seized on Casablanca Highway

Elements of the prefectural judicial police service of Casablanca thwarted, on Friday, an attempt to traffic 2 tons of cannabis resin hidden on board a freight transport truck.
The driver and his assistant, both aged 34 and 44, were arrested, according to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) which indicates that this operation was carried out at the toll station on the Casablanca highway.
The 2 tons of chira which would be intended for international trafficking were found following the search operation carried out by the police. It also seized an inflatable boat, two marine engines and a sum of money that would be related to this criminal activity.

The accused were placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation which will determine the ramifications of this case. The research and investigations are still ongoing to arrest all the people involved in this criminal network.
