Spanish Driver Caught with 117 kg of Cannabis at Morocco-Spain Border Crossing

The elements of the joint customs and police brigade stationed at the Bab Sebta crossing point prevented on Saturday an attempt to traffic 117 kg of cannabis resin.
It was in the early hours of Saturday, August 27 that the customs and police elements at Bab Sebta seized this large quantity of drugs hidden inside a car registered in Spain, driven by a Spanish national.
The drugs in the form of slabs were found during a control operation in which the elements of the joint brigade subjected the vehicle to a thorough inspection. The dogs trained to detect narcotics quickly sniffed the smell of the drugs and directed the police towards the interior of the car chassis, which served as a hiding place.
According to the preliminary investigations, the suspect intended to smuggle the drugs into Ceuta, and then transport them to the port of Algeciras. He was arrested and handed over to the judicial police of Tetouan, who will be responsible for conducting the investigation in order to determine all the ramifications of this attempt at international drug trafficking.
