Agadir Drug Bust: Police Officer Arrested with Cannabis and Cocaine

The operation was conducted by Agadir’s judicial police in close coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST). The suspect, a police officer working in Chefchaouen, was intercepted in the rural area of Amskroud while traveling in a light vehicle.

During the vehicle search, investigators uncovered “a shipment of twenty-two kilograms of cannabis resin” as well as several doses of cocaine. The arrest followed a precise inspection operation intended to verify information previously gathered by intelligence services.

The suspect was placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The ongoing judicial investigation is seeking to “shed light on all the circumstances and ramifications of this case” and determine all criminal acts that may be attributed to the officer.

On the administrative front, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) announced that it would await the outcome of the judicial proceedings before taking action. The institution will then impose the “disciplinary sanctions provided for under the basic statute” against the police officer, alongside the criminal proceedings already initiated.
