Moroccan Police Officer Arrested in Major Cocaine Trafficking Bust

A joint operation carried out by the judicial police brigade of Nador and the services of the General Directorate of National Territory Surveillance led to the arrest of two individuals involved in cocaine trafficking on Tuesday. Among the suspects is a policeman stationed in Tetouan.
The investigation, opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, was triggered on the basis of precise information indicating the imminent delivery of drugs. The investigations carried out by the police services made it possible to identify the suspects and determine their modus operandi.
A surveillance device was set up at the entrance to the city of Al Aroui, where the two individuals were intercepted on board an off-road vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the law enforcement officers discovered ten cocaine slabs, with a total weight of 11 kilograms and 330 grams.
One of the suspects, a policeman serving in Tetouan, was immediately arrested and taken into custody. The second individual, already wanted by the judicial police services of Settat for a similar case of drug trafficking, was also apprehended.
The two suspects were brought before the competent public prosecutor’s office for indictment on charges of possession and trafficking of cocaine.
