Moroccan Police Officer Arrested for Cocaine Trafficking in Major Drug Bust

A police officer on duty in Salé was arrested in flagrante delicto of drug possession during a security operation carried out in Kénitra, in coordination with the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The arrested policeman was in possession of 151 grams of cocaine, several boxes of glue used for anesthesia, as well as a sum of money in national and European currency, suspected of being the proceeds of this criminal activity.
The arrest of the police officer is part of the investigation following the arrest of three people at the Kénitra train station, last February, in flagrante delicto of possession of 203 grams of cocaine. It emerges from the investigations that the arrested police officer would have links with this criminal activity.
The Regional Directorate of the Judicial Police of the city of Kénitra opened this Monday a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor, in order to determine all the circumstances of this case. Meanwhile, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has ordered the temporary suspension of the police officer.
