US Visa Lottery 2023 Opens: 55,000 Green Cards Available Starting October 6

Those who nurture the American dream can rub their hands. The US Department of State, in charge of the Diversity Immigrant Visa program, has just announced the availability of 55,000 visas for the 2023 Immigration Visa Lottery (visa lottery) program. Registration for any candidate will be done on the website https://dvprogram.state.gov/ starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 6. Since last year, an obligation is imposed on any applicant: to have a valid passport.

The applicant must fill out an online form, associating it with a photo that must respect precise dimensions, a tool is available on the registration site to verify that the photo corresponds to the right dimensions. The conditions for access to the American lottery are as follows: being born in eligible countries like Morocco and having a high school diploma (Baccalaureate), or having two years of professional experience in a field requiring at least 2 years of training.

Created by the US government, the "Green card" lottery aims to diversify the US population. The winners receive the Green Card after passing an interview and meeting the conditions. Last year, 4,458 Moroccans managed to obtain the precious document. Egypt comes first with 6,002 visas, followed by Algeria (6,001).
