Moroccan Passport Drops to 85th in Global Ranking, Loses Visa-Free Access to Two Countries

The Moroccan passport has positioned itself in 85th place out of 116 countries, according to the latest ranking established by Henley Passport Index, a standard reference tool when evaluating the ranking of the travel document.
In this position, the Moroccan passport has lost nine places compared to last year, indicates Henley and Partners, which relies on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Furthermore, the Moroccan passport provides access to 63 countries without a visa, compared to 64 last year, losing visa-free access to the Cook Islands and Niue, two South Pacific states in Oceania, politically attached to New Zealand.
In the sub-region, Morocco is outpaced by Tunisia, which occupies 78th place with a total of 71 countries to visit. Japan and Singapore are tied for first place with access to 192 visa-free countries in the world, Germany and South Korea are disputing the second position, while the third place on the podium is shared between Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain.
