Tourists Face Long Waits and Rising Costs in Tangier, Morocco

In Morocco, difficulties are piling up for foreign and Moroccan tourists. In addition to the surge in prices of services in restaurants, cafes and shops, many tourists are experiencing enormous difficulties in getting around Tangier.
Many tourists are forced to wait for long hours under the burning sun at the departure point near the port of Tangier city before boarding a bus. However, the waiting area lacks the most basic comforts and protection against weather conditions. There are no shelters to protect from the heat of the sun, nor any seats to relieve the waiting. As a result, the wait becomes tiring and unpleasant for many.
Tourists, especially many Moroccans living abroad, deplore these conditions that ruin the travel experience. On the web, some are outraged by the lack of basic infrastructure in a city considered one of the most important tourist destinations in Morocco. This situation could lead to a decrease in the number of tourists in the future.
It is urgent that the local authorities invest in improving the tourist infrastructure to preserve the image of Tangier and attract more visitors in the future.
