Toulouse’s Zakaria Aboukhlal Faces Season-Ending Knee Surgery After Europa League Injury

Injured in the knee on Thursday during the match against Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League, Zakaria Aboukhlal should undergo surgery this week.
"The doctors should explain exactly the nature of his injury, but he will have surgery this week. The club will better explain the nature of Zakaria’s injury this week," Carles Martinez Novell said at the post-match press conference against Lens.
The Toulouse FC coach confirms that the Moroccan international "has a serious injury". "I don’t know how long it will take. Since Lens, I want to say that we all wish him the best and that he recovers as soon as possible. We have to move forward, that he comes back as soon as possible. It’s another concern for us, but we have to continue," he added.
Will Zakaria Aboukhlal be able to recover from this injury and take part in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for mid-January in Côte d’Ivoire? This is certainly what we all wish him.
