Injured Aboukhlal Likely Sidelined for Toulouse’s Match Against Brest

Substituted due to injury against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) a week ago, Zakaria Aboukhlal will probably not be in the starting lineup of Toulouse Football Club (TFC) for the match against Stade Brestois this Sunday.
Zakaria Aboukhlal was substituted in the second half of the match against PSG, after receiving a blow to the ankle. With this injury, the 24-year-old Moroccan winger will not be in the starting lineup against Stade Brestois this Sunday, according to the website Les Violets. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 pm at the Stadium.
The Moroccan international thus ends this season on a bad note. However, his absence from the field tonight should delight the TFC, which will not have to deal with the potential controversy that would have been caused by the refusal of the Atlas Lion to wear the special badges in the colors of the rainbow flag to fight against homophobia. Last season, Aboukhlal had publicly expressed his refusal to wear these badges.
In 14 matches played this season, the Moroccan winger has only scored 3 goals. A poor performance explained by his long absence from the field due to a serious knee injury. A blow for the Atlas Lion who, against all odds, resumed training in March, before suffering a new injury last Sunday against PSG. His contract with Toulouse expires in 2026.
