Moroccan Star Aboukhlal Named to Ligue 1 Team of the Week After Stellar Performance
At the end of the 23rd matchday of Ligue 1, Zakaria Aboukhlal was chosen in the team of the week of the French championship. The Moroccan international stood out in the match between Toulouse and Rennes.
Scorer and assist provider against Rennes, Zakaria Aboukhlal was chosen by the French newspaper L’Équipe to be included in the team of the week for the 23rd matchday of Ligue 1. On Sunday against Rennes, the Atlas Lion contributed to Toulouse’s victory (3-1), by scoring the 2nd goal in the 28th minute and delivering the pass that allowed Thijs Dallinga to score the 3rd goal in the 37th minute.
Zakaria Aboukhlal is one of the Moroccan players who have been attacked by certain media. The player had indeed been accused of having made an apology for Salafism during the World Cup in Qatar.
Last July, the Moroccan striker arrived at Toulouse on a 4-year contract from AZ Alkmaar. TFC paid 2 million euros, a little less than his current value which has risen to 3.50 million euros after his brilliant performance at the World Cup.
