Morocco’s Aboukhlal Gains 150,000 Instagram Followers After World Cup Goal Against Belgium

Zakaria Aboukhlal is the author of the second goal that gave Morocco the victory against Belgium in the World Cup. Since this victory, the 22-year-old player, born in the Netherlands, has over 150,000 new subscribers on his social networks.
"It’s a dream come true. I can’t believe it," Aboukhlal said after his goal. "We prefer to wait until Thursday after the match against Canada. We hope that Morocco will be among the 16 best teams in the world," his father and brother, who are in Qatar to support the Moroccan team, reacted.
Aboukhal was called up by Walid Regragui nine days before the start of the World Cup. With his performance in Sunday’s match, the native of Rotterdam in the Netherlands will now be closely followed.
Zakaria Aboukhlal made his debut at GVV Raptim, an amateur team founded by his father, before passing through the training centers of Willem II and PSV Eindhoven. In 2018-2019, he was called up to the Dutch national teams from U16 to U20 where he played 35 matches and scored 12 goals. This summer, he joined the club of Toulouse in France.
