Toulouse FC Player Benched After Refusing to Wear Rainbow Jersey for Anti-Homophobia Campaign

Refusing to wear the rainbow colors, as part of the campaign against homophobia, Moroccan international Zakaria Aboukhlal was not selected for the Ligue 1 match between his club, Toulouse FC and Nantes on Sunday, May 14, which ended in a goalless draw.
Zakaria Aboukhlal, a regular starter, is not playing because he refuses to wear the LGBT-colored jersey, reports La Dépêche du Midi. The Egyptian Mostafa Mohamed (Nantes) also made the same choice. Aligned, Logan Costa and Farès Chaïbi also refused to wear the anti-homophobia rainbow jersey. On Saturday, the Senegalese defender of Guingamp Donatien Gomis had refused to play the Ligue 2 match in Sochaux in order not to participate in the campaign against homophobia.
