Toulouse Striker Aboukhlal Sidelined for Months After Europa League Injury

Zakaria Aboukhlal was injured during the draw between his club Toulouse FC and Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League (1-1) which took place in Brussels on Thursday evening. If the TCF left with a point for its European return, its Moroccan striker is uncertain for the upcoming matches.
"Our striker Zakaria Aboukhlal will be away from the pitch for several months... New exams will be carried out to find out more about the nature of his injury and the duration of his absence. The Club and the group are sending all their strength to Zak’!" the TFC announced on its X (ex-Twitter) account. The Moroccan international injured himself alone in the thigh. A few minutes later, he had to leave the pitch of Union Saint-Gilloise, leaving his teammates temporarily reduced to ten.
Bad news for Morocco. Aboukhlal (20 caps, 3 goals) could miss the next Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) to be held in Côte d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024 with the Atlas Lions.
