Tangier Tourism Surges 10% as High-Speed Rail Boosts Visitor Numbers

Statistics on tourism in Tangier show a certain explosion, which observers do not hesitate to attribute to the high-speed line (LGV) that has served the city since the end of last year.
Around 90,000 tourist arrivals in Tangier, from January to March 2019, for 285,000 overnight stays, which corresponds, respectively, to a 10.1% and 9.1% increase compared to 2018, for the same quarter. Very good figures that testify to a good dynamic for the capital of the north.
In addition, speed and comfort. The two assets, according to Tangier tourism operators quoted by L’Economiste, which have contributed to exponentially developing the use of the LGV by domestic and foreign tourists, which was inaugurated only on November 15, 2018.
While this high-speed line is supporting the revival of tourism in Tangier, this sector is declining in several European countries, writes the newspaper. However, Tangier should not rest on its laurels but could show vigilance and inventiveness to overcome the likely periods of wear and tear for the LGV.
