Agadir Tourism Booms: French Visitors Lead Surge in Morocco’s Beach Resort

French tourists were again, during the first 5 months of the year and by far, the first in terms of foreign arrivals in Agadir, according to figures released by the Regional Tourism Council of Agadir Souss-Massa.
They spent some 497,367 nights in the capital of Souss, an increase of more than 10% compared to the same figures last year. They outpace the Germans who spent 366,574 nights in Agadir, an increase of 3.7%, between last January and May.
But the city of Agadir also attracts local tourists with 289,674 nights, an increase of 11.37% compared to last year.
As in previous reports, it appears that tourists, whether national or foreign, have a preference for 4-star hotels (575,152 nights), then for 5-star hotels (378,919 nights) and, finally, for tourist clubs.
Furthermore, the Regional Tourism Council of Agadir is pleased with a slight increase in the number of nights.
