Tangier Prepares for King Mohammed VI’s Visit to Inaugurate Major Projects

There is excitement in Tangier! For several days, the city of the strait has been preparing to receive a highly anticipated royal visit. To ensure the security of this event, the security forces have been mobilized and the streets of the city have undergone paving, decoration and finishing work on certain projects.
According to the sources cited by "Alyaoum24", King Mohammed VI is expected tomorrow, Thursday, to inaugurate several development projects planned and carried out as part of the Greater Tangier. In addition to this visit, he is expected to chair a council of ministers at the Marshan Palace in Tangier.
One of the major projects that the king will oversee is the Mohammed VI University Hospital, located not far from Tangier, in Gueznaïa. Work began in September 2015 and the facility covers an area of 23 hectares (of which 89,072 square meters are covered). This third-generation hospital has several centers of expertise, such as maternity, surgery, trauma, with 15 central operating rooms and a room for major burns. It is also equipped with a central laboratory, a telemedicine unit, training services and other administrative and technological facilities.
With a capacity of 771 beds, the Mohammed VI University Hospital cost 1.3 billion dirhams paid by the Qatari development fund.
