Morocco to Open North Africa’s Largest Hospital in Tangier

The construction work on the largest University Hospital Center (CHU) in North Africa is almost complete. It is the city of Tangier in Morocco that has the privilege of welcoming this jewel for which the tidy sum of 1.3 billion dirhams has been invested.
The Tangier CHU is located in Gzenaya, where more than 1,200 skilled workers are actively working to make it operational. The facility has a capacity of 865 beds and could be delivered before the end of October. Good news for the region’s hospitals, which will be able to be relieved, especially with the Covid-19 health crisis, reports Le360.
According to the same source, major medical equipment, including a high-tech scanner imported from Germany, as well as other equipment of the same caliber, have been delivered, showing the imminent commissioning of this hospital. With a health center of such magnitude, the people of Tangier will be able to receive care without having to go beyond their region.
