Diverted to Tétouan, a Barcelona–Tangier flight ends with the gendarmerie on board
A passenger was removed from the aircraft by the Royal Gendarmerie after an altercation with the crew of an Air Arabia Maroc plane diverted to Tétouan. The airline has not yet explained the reasons for the airport change.
The incident occurred on Sunday, August 23, aboard flight 3O642 from Barcelona to Tangier. The aircraft, registered as CN-MNT, had to land at Tétouan’s Saniat R’mel Airport before continuing on to Tangier.
The Barcelona–Tangier flight operated that day is clearly shown in the public tracking data for flight 3O642. The reason for its diversion to Tétouan, however, remains unknown.

According to the first available information, several travelers mentioned the possibility of completing the journey to Tangier by coach. This prospect reportedly angered a passenger, who then allegedly confronted members of the crew.
Tension rose inside the cabin, requiring the intervention of the Royal Gendarmerie. The officers removed the passenger from the aircraft and initiated the necessary procedures.
