Ryanair: An unmanageable passenger diverts the Marrakech-Barcelona flight to Fez
A Ryanair flight connecting Marrakech to Barcelona was forced to make an emergency landing at Fez-Saïss airport on Sunday, January 11, due to the behavior of a drunken passenger.
The incident began during the takeoff phase in Marrakech. According to witnesses, the passenger ignored the safety instructions and was aggressive towards the crew and other travelers. Faced with the inability to calm the situation, the captain decided to divert the aircraft, which landed in Fez at 2:10 pm.
Upon arrival, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie boarded the plane to arrest the passenger. A judicial investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
The plane resumed its flight at 3:29 pm to reach Barcelona airport at 5:12 pm, with a two-hour delay from the scheduled time.
