Fear and anger on the Tanger-Nador flight: the plane makes an emergency landing in Oujda

The flight was supposed to be routine: a takeoff from Tanger-Ibn Battouta airport at 8:15 pm for an expected arrival in Nador-Al Aroui at 10:10 pm. But the difficult weather conditions prevailing in northern Morocco decided otherwise. Upon arrival over Nador, the pilot attempted an approach, but the violent gusts of wind made landing impossible. Faced with the risk, the pilot had to apply full power and divert the aircraft to Oujda-Angad airport. This emergency maneuver caused scenes of panic and high tension in the cabin.

While the landing in Oujda was ultimately carried out without incident around 11 pm, the passengers’ ordeal did not end there. According to several testimonies, the travelers were not allowed to disembark the plane once on the ground. Trapped inside the aircraft late at night, tired and still shaken by the turbulence, they expressed their strong indignation at what they describe as "sequestration".

The anger is all the more intense as information was lacking. The passengers denounce the lack of clear explanations from the crew and are already demanding compensation for the damage suffered. For now, neither the Air Arabia company nor the airport authorities have officially communicated on the reasons for this ground blockage, leaving the travelers with their questions about the management of this crisis.
