Flight FR5948, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8, had departed from Brussels-Charleroi airport heading to Morocco. While the aircraft was at 37,000 feet altitude off the French coast, the crew declared an emergency. The pilots immediately initiated a rapid descent to obtain priority landing on runway 05 at Bordeaux-Mérignac airport, according to specialized site Airlive.

Once on the ground, the aircraft was directed to a remote parking position. This maneuver allowed medical services to intervene quickly with the passenger in distress without disrupting regular terminal traffic. After the person’s evacuation and completion of administrative procedures, the aircraft took off again at 10:10 a.m. to reach Tetouan airport. Ryanair provided no details about the passenger’s health condition.
