Casablanca Transforms for Royal Visit: King Mohammed VI to Unveil Mega Projects
The authorities of the city of Casablanca are pulling out all the stops to welcome King Mohammed VI, who is expected to inaugurate a series of projects in the city and surrounding areas.
Since Friday, the regional and municipal authorities have been working to ensure a warm welcome for the king. Beautification work has been undertaken on the main thoroughfares that the monarch, accompanied by Prince Moulay Hassan, is expected to use. Similarly, the regional authority has instructed its relevant services to paint the sidewalks and beautify and light up the various streets.
The Crown Prince arrived on Saturday in the economic capital, where he was welcomed with the honors due to his rank. King Mohammed VI is expected in the coming days to inaugurate several projects, including the maritime fishing port, the maritime station which has undergone extension work, as well as the shipbuilding yard, considered the largest on the continent.
The authorities of the Anfa prefecture are mobilized to ensure the smooth running of this royal visit. On the instructions of the Casablanca police chief, security forces have been deployed in several streets and intersections to strengthen security in the city, facilitate traffic flow, and avoid congestion during the movements of the king and the crown prince.
