Casablanca’s Makeover: King’s Visit Sparks Citywide Transformation

The city of Casablanca is experiencing an intense period of preparations in anticipation of an upcoming visit by King Mohammed VI. The Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, has ordered a general mobilization of municipal and regional services to improve the appearance of the economic capital.
The directives focus on several priority areas. The work includes the repair of the roadway at critical points, the renovation of road signs, the improvement of public lighting, and the maintenance of sidewalks. Particular attention is being paid to the main thoroughfares in order to enhance the image of the metropolis.
The beautification effort also concerns green spaces, with pruning, planting, and cleaning campaigns in public gardens. At the same time, the various districts have been called upon to intensify waste collection operations, a sensitive issue for the city, in collaboration with the delegated management companies.
This mobilization aims to improve the urban landscape of Casablanca. The stated objective of the authorities is to present a renewed image of the city, in line with its status as a major economic and financial hub in Morocco and Africa.
