Spanish Investors Eye Morocco as Government Eases Entry for Foreign Professionals
Spanish investors are preparing to seize the opportunities offered by the Moroccan market. This is thanks to the recent decision by the government to ease the conditions for foreign professionals to access the national territory.
According to Les Inspirations Eco, the trigger was the decision of the Moroccan government to allow access to the national territory for foreign entrepreneurs and professionals, at the invitation of Moroccan companies. It is welcome for Spanish organizations, already in a policy of exploring new markets, based on an agenda including a trip on site, with the possibility for interested parties of a telematic meeting.
This is the case, for example, of the Cantabria Chamber of Commerce, in the process of a prospecting mission in the Kingdom for the benefit of Spanish economic operators.
Because for this region, "Morocco has experienced strong growth over the past ten years". Thus, "it represents an opportunity," the newspaper indicates. And, "the opportunities for Spanish companies are generally diversified, with a particular focus on the automotive components and textile sectors," says a source, adding that this is where Morocco should focus its efforts to attract European investors.
Morocco, which has gained notoriety during this health crisis and should use this goodwill capital judiciously, particularly in this context where China has lost its rating due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And Les Inspirations Eco indicates that Morocco’s two challengers now are Turkey and Portugal. The Moroccan offer must not trivialize the evolution of these two competing markets, the newspaper advises.
