Valencia Business Leaders Explore Investment Opportunities in Morocco

Potential investors from the city of Valencia are carrying out a trade mission to Morocco from February 16 to 19. The delegation, composed of entrepreneurs, are mandated to prospect for business opportunities and examine ways to strengthen bilateral economic relations.
This economic and trade mission to Morocco has been organized in collaboration with the Confederation of Companies of the Valencia Community (CEV) and the Valencia Chamber of Commerce. Led by the President of the Region, Ximo Puig, the mission aims to strengthen the presence of Valencian companies in the Moroccan market and to sniff out new opportunities to reinforce trade relations between the two parties, according to the regional government in a press release.
The delegation will visit the cities of Rabat, Casablanca and Tangier to prospect the investment opportunities they hold in the various economic sectors. With this trade mission to Morocco, the Generalitat seeks to strengthen the positioning of Valencian companies and products in the Moroccan market.
"Morocco is the leader in terms of foreign investment in North Africa, and is the main destination for our exports to the African continent, with Spain being the kingdom’s leading supplier," the statement said, noting that the Moroccan market holds great opportunities that deserve to be explored. The program of this mission also includes meetings between Valencian and Moroccan companies and meetings with institutional actors.
At least 63 Valencian companies are already established in Morocco and more than 2,900 companies in this region of eastern Spain export to the kingdom. Moreover, Valencian exports to Morocco exceeded 689 million euros at the end of last November, an increase of 1.93% year-on-year.
