Spain to Repatriate Thousands More Stranded in Morocco Amid Travel Restrictions

Spain is preparing to repatriate again its nationals stranded in Morocco. Two new operations are planned by sea from the port of Tanger-Med to the port of Algeciras, on August 13 and 14.
In a statement published online, the Spanish Embassy in Rabat has invited Moroccan nationals to express their demand online and pay the related fees before August 10, given the availability of seats.
According to the Spanish media, some 20,000 Spanish and Moroccan nationals residing abroad have been repatriated from Morocco, since the implementation of preventive health measures.
It should be recalled that Morocco remains among the 103 countries whose nationals are not yet welcome on Spanish territory, due to the coronavirus pandemic, due to the principle of reciprocity.
