Morocco Emerges as Top Investment Destination for Spanish Firms, Ambassador Says

Thanks to political, economic and social reforms, Morocco remains a reliable destination for foreign investors, mainly Spanish. This is what Karima Benyaich, the Moroccan ambassador to Spain, indicated.
The multiple sectoral strategies undertaken by the Kingdom over the past 20 years as well as the feats of the Moroccan economy, create more opportunities for partnership and investment for Spanish economic operators, Ms. Benyaich said during a videoconference on the theme "Morocco: focus on a country in motion", which she led.
Organized by the Moroccan diplomatic representation in Spain, in partnership with the Institute of Historical Studies Bances and Valdés and the Corps of the Nobility of the Principality of Asturias, several Spanish companies interested in the Moroccan market, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Madrid and several other political and academic figures participated.
This videoconference was an opportunity to highlight the excellence of the partnership, political, economic, commercial and cultural relations between Morocco and Spain and also to underline the strategic partnership that is developing more and more at the bilateral level. The ambassador also emphasized the advantages and incentive measures provided for by Moroccan law for the benefit of national and foreign investors, especially in promising sectors.
Ms. Benyaich did not fail to address the current health situation in the kingdom, highlighting the measures taken by sector, especially the recent national vaccination campaign against the coronavirus launched by the sovereign. She also addressed the opportunities for collaboration and partnership between Spanish and Moroccan companies, for the acquisition of new markets in Africa.
Regarding multilateral relations, Ms. Benyaich reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment and its efforts in terms of the fight against illegal immigration, from a solidarity and integrated approach and against terrorism and organized crime within the framework of international and regional cooperation.
