Solar Panel Theft Ring Terrorizes Marrakech Region, Police Launch Investigation

The members of a criminal gang specialized in the theft of solar panels have terrorized the Marrakech region. An investigation has been opened by the security services under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
There are three individuals who are members of this gang known for their ease in stealing photovoltaic solar panels. These thieves often target farms and villas that have installed these solar panels to produce electricity, reports the daily Al Massae, which emphasizes that they have managed to sow panic among the inhabitants of the region, especially those of the Ouled El Karn district.
The modus operandi of this gang essentially consists of infiltrating at night, into farms equipped with these solar panels. Their latest attempt failed last Sunday around 2 a.m., thanks to the vigilance of the guard of the attacked agricultural farm. Alerted, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Marrakech immediately opened an investigation by interviewing eyewitnesses.
Last August, a gang specialized in the same type of burglary had been neutralized by the royal gendarmerie in the same commune of Essâada. Another, who was engaged in the same activity in the commune of Souihla, had also been neutralized. The police are doing everything to arrest these three individuals who are sowing panic in farms and some homes.
