Fez Police Bust Major Crime Ring Involved in Car Theft, Drug Trafficking, and Kidnapping

Two individuals with criminal records were apprehended by the judicial police officers of the Fez security district. Aged 18 and 44, they are suspected of belonging to a criminal network active in several criminal activities including theft, fraud and drug trafficking.
According to a source close to the case, the members of this criminal gang pose as car guards and take advantage of this cover to steal cars by blackmailing road users, selling drugs, and alcoholic beverages. They are also accused of kidnapping and demanding ransom.
After searches at the home of the main suspect, located on a farm in the Tawat suburb, as well as at the homes of other people suspected of belonging to the network, the police seized the tools used to force locks, seven cars and three motorcycles bearing forged plates, as well as bladed weapons, a plastic pistol, yellow vests, a quantity of cannabis resin and bottles of alcoholic beverages, according to the same source.
The dismantling of this criminal network is part of the continuation of the investigations and inquiries carried out after the arrest of 22 people referred to the Fez prosecutor’s office. The two gangs carry out criminal activities of the same nature.
