Massive Crackdown: Over 5,000 Arrested in Marrakech-Safi Region

Feats to the credit of the security services in the Wilaya of Marrakech and the provincial security of Safi. Operations were carried out between May 26 and 31 and resulted in the arrest of 5,070 people, reports Al Akhbar citing a DGSN statement.

Among them, 4,117 people caught in the act of criminal acts and 953 others subject to arrest warrants for their alleged involvement in various offenses and crimes. In total, 31 bladed weapons, 27.3 kg of cannabis resin and several quantities of psychotropic drugs, cocaine and alcoholic beverages were seized during these operations. Phones, sums of money, motorcycles used or resulting from criminal acts as well.

The people involved or wanted for crimes such as theft with violence or under threat of bladed weapons, assaults, etc. were targeted by these operations.
