Deadly Bootleg Alcohol Claims 6 Lives in Morocco; Suspect Arrested

The elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Oujda, proceeded on Saturday to the arrest of a repeat offender, known to the police services for his involvement in cases of theft and sale of alcoholic beverages without authorization. This time, he would be involved in the sale of adulterated drinks that caused the death of six people.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the police services had opened an investigation after being informed of the death of six consumers of alcoholic beverages and the intoxication of two others after consuming the same product.
Thus, the investigations and inquiries carried out by the judicial police made it possible to identify the suspect, a thirty-year-old man known to the police services for having been involved in many similar cases. He was immediately arrested and taken into custody, at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case.
The investigation must identify the relationship between the recorded deaths and the alcoholic beverages consumed. The police continue the searches and investigations in order to arrest the presumed accomplices involved in these criminal acts, concludes the DGSN.
