Solar Panel Theft Ring Busted in Marrakech, Morocco

Individuals specialized in the theft of solar panels in Marrakech were arrested by the elements of the royal gendarmerie.
The band of photovoltaic panel thieves was put out of harm’s way in the commune of Saâda. According to Al Massae, this band stole, last Saturday, "panels in the neighborhoods of Laâzoubia, Targa and Al Afak". Tired of the repeated thefts, the residents of these neighborhoods filed complaints which allowed the gendarmerie to launch the investigations, which led to the arrest of several people. The agents also seized a car and about sixty photovoltaic panels.
Another network known for the same offenses was also dismantled in the commune of Souihla. The three members of this gang were taken into custody and questioned before being brought before the competent prosecutor’s office.
The investigations of the elements of the royal gendarmerie led to the arrest of other solar panel thieves in the commune of Ouled Cherki, in the province of Kelât Seraghna.
